Audio storytelling, like said by Abumrad, is something that has been around for thousands of years. In todays time there are a ton of ways audio storytelling is presented. Whether it’s a podcast, radio shows, audiobooks, etc… sound will always the biggest part of stories. Why? “Your job is to create a dream state,” said Abumrad. This means that all we need is sound, visuals can be interpreted in the mind by individuals. Basically, there’s no need for screens or actors on a stage.
Besides podcast or audiobooks, my favorite form of audio storytelling, that I failed to mention, is music. Music’s impact on humans is pretty steezy. It can either bring the ambiance of a party up or down. It can completely flip the day of an angry mom after work, or bring a smile to a teenager struggling in school, socially. Music is one of the oldest forms of storytelling, and in my opinion, the most impactful.
